Michael “MusiKels” Omila was born and raised in the Philippines and migrated to the United States when he was 13 years old. Surrounded by Filipinos and their karaoke machines, it was easy to say that MusiKels was always surrounded by music. Joining the Elite Vocal Jazz Ensemble group at his high-school, MusiKels was immediately drawn in to the likings of working with musicians who loved what they do.
Rather than continuing his journey in the music field, MusiKels took a different route and joined the United States Marine Corps upon graduating High School in 2004. He spent the next eight years fixing small arms weapons/optics and learned through experience valuable teachings to be a professional that most of us want to achieve in our lifetime.
In 2013, MusiKels enrolled himself to Full Sail University, located in Orlando, FL., to study the art of Audio Engineering. Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree and attaining valuable experiences with his peers, he was able to grasp the technicalities of what goes in a professional audio recording.
While in school, MusiKels was opened to a whole new world in the entertainment business. He quickly taught himself, with the help of his peers and instructors. Familiarizing himself in various professional-grade production software such as Final Cut Pro, for video editing and Pro-Tools, for audio editing. His love for production, specifically in audio, is still on-going and he is a big fan of Logic Pro X to create an output for his music creativity.
In 2022, MusiKels went back to Full Sail University to earn a Masters of Science Degree in Entertainment Business, where he immediately found the passion for Digital Marketing Strategies. He soon later registered his business ideas and started working on his Masters Degree Business Plan.
Michael “MusiKels” Omila is devoted to raising awareness into the American Music Therapy Association to bring knowledge to a community dedicated in helping each other achieve a better quality of life through MusiK.
